[origin: US2001041523A1] A machine for grinding cylindrical bearing surfaces on parts, in particular journals and/or crank pins on crankshafts, using an abrasive belt, includes a support on which three abrasive belt clamping members are mounted in a triangle and mobile in directions that converge toward the axis of the bearing surface to be ground. Each clamping member carries at least one applicator shoe conformed to press the abrasive belt against the bearing surface along a surface essentially limited to a generatrix parallel to the axis of the bearing surface. The shoe is preferably made from an elastomer having a Shore hardness at most equal to 100 and has a cylindrically curved applicator surface with a radius of curvature less than the radius of curvature of the bearing surface.

Machine pour l'usinage par bande abrasive de portées cylindriques sur des pièces, notamment de tourillons et/ou de manetons sur des vilebrequins, comprenant pour l'usinage d'une porté (e4) un support sur lequel trois éléments de serrage de bande abrasive (1) sont montés en triangle en étant mobiles suivant des directions qui convergent vers l'axe (3) de la portée (4) à usiner.Chaque élément de serrage (1) porte au moins un patin d'application (7) conformé de manière à appliquer la bande abrasive (5) contre la portée (4) suivant une surface essentiellement limitée à une génératrice parallèle à l'axe (3) de la portée. De préférence, le patin (7) réalisé en un élastomère ayant une dureté Shore au plus égale à 100 présente une surface d'application bombée en cylindre avec un rayon de courbure inférieur au rayon de courbure de la portée (4).
