[origin: EP1160369A1] The embroidery machine assembly has machine frames (11,12) flanking a service passage (15), linked by upper struts (13). The grids (21,23) are at the frames, each with a stretched fabric (25,27) for embroidery. A needle trolley at each frame has a number of embroidery points, and a common control operates both half sections of the machine, with a drive which moves both grids vertically in the same direction and laterally in opposite directions. The embroidery machine has a service passage which gives access at the needle side and the shuttle side. The upper ends of the machine frames are held together by struts or an assembly of struts. The grids are moved by servo motors. An Independent claim is included for an embroidery operation, to embroider identical patterns on at least two parallel fabrics. The movement components of the embroidery needles at one needle trolley (17,19) are opposed to the movement components of the needles at the other trolley (19,17). Preferred Features: The movement components of the shuttle mechanism (43) at one machine frame are opposed to the movement components of the shuttle mechanism (45) at the other machine frame.
