Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1160404A1] The hoop lock has a lock body (10) to secure the ends (14) of a hoop (12). The lock body is fitted with at least one separate plastics buffer unit (13) and/or at least one protective covering layer (11,29), in a sandwich structure (21) of a greater strength than the buffer. The buffer has an effective surface area of 2-10 cm<2> over the lock body, between the hoop ends.
