The engine has a horizontal turbine whose turbine shaft (3) is extended into the turbine intake region and connected to the belt drive transmission (4). The engine is mounted on a support (5) that can be releasably secured to points in the mid-region of the helicopter fuselage. Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Antriebseinheit für einen Modellhubschrauber mit einem Rumpf, in dessen Mittelbereich die Antriebseinheit sowie eine Rotorwelle 1 gelagert sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Antriebseinheit eine horizontal angeordnete Turbine 2 umfasst, deren Turbinenwelle 3 im Einlaufbereich der Turbine 2 verlängert ist und mit einem Getriebe 4 verbunden ist. <IMAGE>
