Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19911115A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a fibre mat which promotes the growth of cultivated plants. According to the method, natural fibres and added materials are combined, the latter being used with the help of binding agents and/or increased temperatures and/or increased pressure by means of any method. The invention is characterised in that the prepared nonwoven materials consisting of natural fibres are pre-compacted if necessary and prepared with binding agents on at least one side and in that the auxiliary materials are then joined to the nonwoven material on one side and dispersed thereon and fixed in the pre-treated nonwoven material. The resulting products are used especially in forestry, gardening and landscaping and agriculture.
