[origin: WO0024956A1] In order to optimize the ration of the bath (kilograms of material to be dyed to kilograms of bath) as the treated quantity varies, the unit comprises a kier (2) and a reservoir (3), interconnected by a hydraulic line including at least one variable flow pump (8, 9), a flow controlling device (17) and a level controlling device (18) for the dyeing bath (10). The flow rate of the pumps (8, 9) is set by an electronic control unit (19), so as to ensure that the flow rate of a first pump (8) is adequate to guarantee the proper completion of the chemical dyeing process, and that the flow rate of a second pump (9) is high enough to ensure that the free liquid level of the bath will not contact the cloth during the treating phase, or that the cloth is never dipped into the dyeing bath (10).
