Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2347948A] A membrane (10) comprises a pad of flexible weatherproof material having reinforcing mesh (14) laminated to the pad. The membrane may be moulded into a part circular form and flare outwardly from its bottom edge (16) and the top edge (20) is cut or relieved (18) at spaced intervals such that it may be folded to form a lip (22). In use, the membrane is moulded to fit at the ends of glazing bars (34) at a point where the glazing bars meet the end of the roof ridge (30). In an alternative embodiment (Figures 4 and 5) the membrane is fitted with sheet reinforcement and the top edge of the membrane has a bulge along it which serves as a lip. Preferably, the pad is made from a foamed plastics material capable of adherence to silicone sealant and the reinforcement material is metal or plastics.
