[origin: GB2347984A] A protector for use in protecting an elongated member or members 32 comprises a flexible wall portion 34 which forms or is adapted to form a sleeve around the elongated member(s). The protector also comprises compressed resilient material 40 adhered to at least part of that surface 38 of the flexible wall portion 34 which forms the interior surface of the sleeve. The compressed resilient material 40 is releasable to reduce the space between the wall portion 34 and the elongated member(s) 32. The compound resilient material 40 is preferably applied to discrete areas of the flexible wall portion surface 38, preferably extending as parallel bands over said surface. The compressed resilient material 40 may be fibrous or a foam, and an infra-red reflective surface is preferably adhered to the outer surface of the flexible wall portion 34.
