[origin: EP1162322A2] Floor plates (1) may join wall plates (2) with complementary ridge and groove patterns which lock together to form a strong joint. The floor covering layer stops just short of the inside surface of the wall, and there is a sealing strip. Where floor panels butt together, a filler strip is placed in the gap between the adjacent floor coverings.
