[origin: WO0048872A1] A pawl latch (10) for securing a first member to a second member, such as, for example, a closure panel to a frame or enclosure compartment, the latch (10) including a housing (11) with a living spring pawl member (13) connected thereto, and a handle (12) which has fingers (47, 48) which engage the pawl (13) to retract the pawl (13) from engagement with a keeper member or surface to open the latch (10). A locking mechanism (15) is also provided for securing the latch (10) from unauthorized opening, the locking mechanism (15) having a locking element (23) which holds the handle (12) against movement and prevents the retraction of the pawl (13) with the handle (12).
