[origin: WO0055054A2] A band and a blank (10) for forming a band for encircling one or more articles, for example poultry or meat. The band is formed from paperboard or like foldable material and comprises an endless strap (12) and a compartment (6) for retaining part of the article. The compartment (6) can be erected from a flat collapsed condition into a position of use, and is formed by the strap (12) and opposed end wall structures (15, 15a) hingedly connected to the strap (12) in face contacting relationship. The opposed end wall structures (15, 15a) are so constructed and arranged to be automatically erected from the flat collapsed condition into the position of use during construction of the carton.
