[origin: DE19912846A1] The invention relates to a catalyst body and a method for producing a catalyst body which comprises at least one honeycomb (1), especially with a catalytically active coating (2), and a plurality of axial channels (3) which can be flown through by a fluid. The channel walls (4) are basically provided with average wall thicknesses. The aim of the invention is to prevent soot deposits at a front face (5) of the honeycomb (1). To this end, the channel walls (4) are provided with front end sections (6) at least in the area of a front face (5), whereby said sections (6) have reduced wall thicknesses.
