Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2348334A] Various types of image compression have been proposed. The present invention compresses image data using a predetermined compression technique such as the Microsoft S3 compression scheme. The compressed image is then decompressed and difference values derived between the original image and the decompressed image. The thus derived difference values are then compressed for use in sub-different correction of the decompressed image and are transmitted or stored along with the compressed image data.
