Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1164003A2] The method of applying a cord (16) forming a loop to a carrier-bag involves the two cord-ends (17) being knotted. A pre-determined length of cord is passed through a first knot module (2), through a first punched hole and through a loop's curve (4) until the one cord end has reached the inlet to a second knot module (3) where the other cord-end is knotted. The loop's curve is then opened and the one cord end is passed through a second punched hole and through the second knot module. The loop-curve is closed to fix the loop on the stop piece. The two knots are then tightened and the cord released from the knot modules and loop-guide.
