Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0154861A1] The invention relates to a receiving chuck for optical components for the purpose of precision grinding and/or polishing. The inventive receiving chuck is provided with a plurality of support elements consisting of an elastic material for the components, and with a system for supplying or discharging air opposite the back of the support element. The receiving chuck comprises a base (1) with a spindle shaft (2) that has a center bore (3) for the supply of air, said base (1) being in the shape of a pot (5) and having a peripheral edge (4). A cover part (6) is hermetically placed on the edge (4), the top (15) of the cover being spherically adapted to the radius of a grinding or polishing cup (16). The top (15) of the cover is provided with cylindrical recesses (8) that are disposed symmetrically with respect to the axis (17) of the spindle shaft (2) and that receive the elastic support elements (9). Every recess (8) is fluidically linked with the pot interior (5) of the base (1) via at least one bore (13).
