[origin: DE19914812A1] Single- or multi-phase detergent tablets consisting of compressed particulate detergent ingredients, including a bleaching agent and bleach activator(s), contain, or have at least one phase containing, a cyanomethyl ammonium salt (I) as bleach activator, provided that a 1% aqueous solution of the (I)-containing tablet or phase has a pH below 10. Single- or multi-phase detergent tablets consisting of compressed particulate detergent ingredients, including a bleaching agent and bleach activator(s), contain, or have at least one phase containing, a cyanomethyl ammonium salt of formula (I) as bleach activator, provided that a 1% aqueous solution of the (I)-containing tablet or phase has a pH below 10: R<1> = H; Me; 2-24C alkyl or alkenyl optionally substituted by Cl, Br, OH, NH2 and/or CN; or optionally ring-substituted alkyl- or alkenylaryl with a 1-24C alkyl group (sic); R<2>, R<3> = cyanomethyl, 1-3C alkyl, hydroxymethyl, 1- or 2-hydroxyethyl, 1-, 2- or 3-hydroxypropyl or (CH2CH2O)nH; n = 1-6; X<-> = an anion.
