[origin: EP1167033A1] Ink layer commands are set for ink layer in each color zone (s) of inking unit according to ink cover distribution. Ink feed is simulated to calculate simulated ink coverage distribution, whereby steady state error between ink cover command for printed ink layer and simulated ink cover distribution is brought to zero. Ink zone screw presettings are determined. Ink zone screws are preset before or at start of actual print run. Independent claim for system to control inking unit of offset printing machine, and for computer readable medium with operation program.
