The device for contact-free guiding of a material web over a surface (2) has a facility whereby the volume of gaseous medium flowing beneath the web from an air cushion is variable by means of an adjustable closing element (3) regardless of the format of the material web fed over the surface. A number of openings (11) located one behind the other when viewed in the direction of movement are provided in the surface, and the longitudinal extent of the opening exceeds its transverse extent in the surface by a multiple.

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Einrichtung zum berührungsfreien Führen eines Bahnmateriales (33) über eine Fläche (2). An dieser Fläche (2) wird im Bahnmaterial (33) ein erster Längsfalz erzeugt; die Fläche (2) erstreckt sich von einer oberen Traverse (5) zu einer unteren Traverse (19) und verjüngt sich in ihrer Breite kontinuierlich in Bahnlaufrichtung (32) gesehen. In der Fläche (2) und den Begrenzungen (1) sind Öffnungen (10, 11) für ein gasförmiges Medium vorgesehen. Abhängig vom Format (23.1, 23.2) des Bahnmateriales (33) ist das unterhalb des Bahnmateriales (33) aus einem Luftkissen (17) abströmende Volumen des gasförmigen Mediums durch ein anstellbares Schließelement (3) variierbar. <IMAGE>
