Abstract (en)
Tower furnace has a preheating section and a high temperature section connected above it forming a housing. The preheated section equipped with a gas-heated muffle has a stop in the muffle made of heat-insulating material for the high temperature section. High temperature section is provided with gas-heated muffle which surrounds the stop from the outside and is connected to it via a liquid seal. Preferred Features: The stop has a passage cross-section for the metal strip to be treated with a low width measured vertically to the metal strip and corresponding to the half radius of the stop.

Es wird ein Turmofen zur Wärmebehandlung von Metallbändern mit einem Vorwärmabschnitt (3) und einem daran nach oben anschließenden, ein vom Vorwärmabschnitt (3) gesondertes Gehäuse (4) bildenden Hochtemperaturabschnitt (5) beschrieben, wobei der mit einer vorzugsweise gasbeheizten Muffel (7) ausgerüstete Vorwärmabschnitt (3) einen oben in die Muffel (7) eingesetzten Anschlußstopfen (6) aus wärmeisolierendem Werkstoff für den Hochtemperaturabschnitt (5) aufweist. Um vorteilhafte Konstruktionsbedingungen zu schaffen, wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Hochtemperaturabschnitt (5) ebenfalls mit einer vorzugsweise gasbeheizten Muffel (12) versehen ist, die den Anschlußstopfen (6) außen umschließt und an diesen vorzugsweise über eine Flüssigkeitsdichtung (14) gasdicht anschließt. <IMAGE>
