Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1167602A2] The flatbed knitter has at least two facing needle beds with stitch loopers (30,40) and/or comb gap sinkers (45). A wire (20) is fixed at least at one needle bed as a limit for the stitch loops, which gives a common adjustment to the stitch loopers and/or comb gap sinkers. The flatbed knitter can be in operation during the adjustment of the stitch loopers and/or comb gap sinkers, independently of the knitter slide position. The wire is secured at alternate stitch loopers. The intermediate stitch loopers can be adjusted together, independently of those at the wire. Or the wire is secured to the comb gap sinkers, which can be adjusted together independently of the common adjustment for the stitch loopers. The needle bed has two types of stitch loopers, where all the loopers of one type are adjusted together, independently of the common adjustment for the other type. The stitch loopers and/or the comb gap sinkers are moved into each adjusted position. They are mounted to bars (60,70,80) which can slide along and/or across the longitudinal line of the needle bed. The bars have at least two elongated holes, at an angle to the needle bed longitudinal axis, to take inserted guide pins (90).
