Abstract (en)

The missile body has a cylindrical wall (2) e.g. of steel containing solid fuel propellant (3) and a thermal insulation liner (5), has weakened zones to release internal pressure in the event of a fire in the surrounding area without altering its mechanical properties. The weakened zones can be in the form of orifices (6) plugged with a material which is less resistant than that of the wall. The plug (7) can be made from a material such as tin, with a lower melting point than the missile wall, or it can be fitted by force and ejected by the internal pressure.

Abstract (fr)

<IMAGE>
