Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0062647A1] The inventive chair mechanism serves to adjust the seating surface and the backrest. Said mechanism consists of a base part (1) which is supported by a vertical post (2) and which outwardly projects from the same. A support (6) which serves to accommodate a seat plate is coupled to the front side of said base part via pivotal connecting members (5). The rear side of the support is pivotally connected to the base part (1) via a linkage (8) that supports the backrest. The swivel bearing of this linkage (8) is located near the vertical post (2). A spring (11) is provided between the base part (1) and the support (6). The base part (1) is designed, when viewed from above, approximately in the shape of a U or V formed by two limbs and a web that connects said limbs. The base part (1) consists of two shells (15, 16), whereby the parting plane (17) of both shells (15, 16) passes through the web and the limbs.
