[origin: WO0064689A1] A reservoir pen has a valve for controlling flow of ink to the underside of a pen nib (6) from an ink channel (4) of a feed bar (3), the valve member (9) being lifted off the valve seat (8) by a spring element, which may be a separate component (17) or a flange (21) integral with the valve member (9), when the nib (6) is deflected away from the feed bar (3). The valve member (9) is pressed against the valve seat (8) by the nib (6) to close the valve.
