[origin: DE10009599C1] The invention relates to a method and a device for operating a cover of a sliding-lift-up sunroof of a vehicle. When the vehicle is stationary, the cover is in a first position in relation to a roof skin surrounding the cover. When the vehicle is moving, the cover is moved out of a first relative position and into a second relative position by a vacuum force brought about by a driving wind. This method comprises the following steps: a) determining (12, 14) a physical value that correlates with the vacuum force; b) changing (13) the position of the cover from the second relative position to a third relative position essentially corresponding to the first relative position, according to the value that is determined and in the opposite direction to the direction in which the vacuum force is exerted, by means of a cover driving system. This ensures that in its closing position, the cover always lies in the same position relative to the roof skin surrounding it, regardless of the vehicle speed.
