Process for cooling metallic longitudinal products, especially sheet steel pile (S, S1) comprises cooling the products initially by a cooling difference ( DELTA T1- DELTA T5) over a cooling period (K1-K5) by wetting with a cooling fluid; and producing a temperature compensation in the product over a compensation interval (E1-E4) without affecting a coolant. Cooling and temperature compensation are repeated until the theoretical final temperature (ET) is reached in the product. An Independent claim is also included for a device for cooling metallic longitudinal products, especially sheet steel pile. Preferred Features: The length of the compensation interval (E1-E4) is 10-30 times the length of the cooling period (K1-K5). The coolant is water or water-containing emulsion.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Abkühlen von durch Warmverformen erzeugten metallischen Langprodukten, insbesondere Spundbohlen (S,S1) aus Stahl, bei dem in einem ersten Schritt die Langprodukte (S,S1) zunächst über ein Kühlzeitintervall (K1 - K5) durch Benetzen mit einem Kühlfluid um eine Temperaturdifferenz (ΔT1 - ΔT5) abgekühlt werden und bei dem in einem zweiten Schritt über ein Ausgleichszeitintervall (E1 - E4) ohne die Einwirkung eines Kühlmittels ein Temperaturausgleich in dem Langprodukt (S,S1) hergestellt wird, wobei die Schritte der stufenweisen Abkühlung und des Temperaturausgleichs wiederholt werden, bis eine Soll-Endtemperatur (ET) in dem Langprodukt (S,S1) erreicht ist. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren und die Vorrichtung ermöglichen es, Langprodukte, insbesondere Spundbohlen, auf kostengünstige Weise ohne die Gefahr einer ungewollten Verformung abkühlen zu lassen. <IMAGE>
