Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0156812A1] The invention concerns a tyre tread comprising a crosslinkable rubber composition including at least a styrene and a butadiene copolymer prepared in emulsion, and a method for improving the wear resistance of such a tread. The invention concerns a tyre tread comprising for the major part a white reinforcing filler as reinforcement filler. The inventive tyre tread comprises a crosslinkable rubber composition including at least a styrene and a butadiene copolymer prepared in emulsion and a reinforcing filler including as major component a white reinforcing filler, said white reinforcing filler being present in said composition in an amount not less that 40 parts per hundred parts of said or each polymeric elastomer. Said composition is characterised in that said or each copolymer comprising an emulsifier in an amount substantially varying between 1 to 3.5 parts per hundred parts of said or each elastomeric copolymer.
