Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0063449A1] Method for producing a steel and more particularly a rolling bearing steel as well as a rolling bearing component produced with such a method. In order to be able to directly roll the steel after continuous casting or to roll the steel immediately after heating without a soaking heat treatment, it is proposed to use a steel comprising nominally 0.96 wt% C, 0.25 wt% Si, 0.85 wt% Mn and 0.8 wt% Cr. Such a steel can favourably be used in rolling bearing components and more particularly bearing rings.
