[origin: WO0065154A1] The invention relates to a tongue box for grooved rail points, comprising a rigid rail (2), a slide plate (5) and a side rail (3). Said side rail (3), said slide plate (5) and a base plate (4) are welded to each other and together with the rigid rail (2), form a box-shaped section. According to the invention, the tongue box is configured in such a way that the rigid rail (2) is connected to the box-shaped section with a positive and nonpositive fit by means of clamping pieces that are welded to the box-shaped section and/or the base plate (4), so that highly resistant materials which are difficult or impossible to weld can be used for the rigid rail (2).
