[origin: WO0065289A1] The invention relates to a refrigerator (10) with a compressor and at least two evaporators for cooling refrigerator compartments (14, 15) that are at different temperatures. The compressor and the evaporator are connected in series and have a different refrigerating capacity. The compartment with the highest temperature has at least one lighting device (19), which also serves as a heating device, and is equipped with at least one temperature probe for detecting the temperature of the compartment, which is transmitted to an electronic evaluation unit (21). According to the invention, elements that subject the lighting device (19) to a predetermined number of control signals of the same and/or different polarity in accordance with the temperature of the compartment are provided, this function being controlled by the evaluation unit (21).
