[origin: EP0792630A2] At the upper column cover end is a bearing point for the locating table and a height adjustment device with a work cylinder is provided in the support column, which engages on the column cover for height adjustment. The column core comprises at least two columns (3,4) on which the column cover (2) is guided by guide components (5,6) encompassing the column periphery and which are firmly connected with the column cover. The arrangement of the two columns is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the locating table (7). The upper ends of the two columns are joined to one another by a rigid connecting component (9) running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the locating table.
