[origin: EP1175961A2] The machining process involves machining the surfaces (2a) of flat workpieces (2) using rotating tools (5, 6). The workpieces and tools can move relative to each other. The surfaces can be machined selectively in the same machine tool by means of a tool unit containing a machining roll, e.g. a brush roll, and a tool unit containing plate-type tools.
