[origin: EP1176301A2] The cylinder crankcase of an internal combustion engine has a charge air compressor support (22) constructed as an exhaust gas turbocharger and formed in one piece with the crankcase. The charge air compressor support is constructed on the crankcase in a center region on the transition from a crankcase section (18) to cylinder block section (14). The support has a flange section (24) for attachment of the turbocharger. An Independent claim is included for an internal combustion engine, especially for a motor vehicle and preferably with an exhaust gas turbocharger.
