[origin: DE19921496A1] One of the basic pre-requisites for using the vacuum die-casting method is that said method takes place in a circuit which is sealed off from the exterior. Appropriately secure sealing systems are required, in order to avoid undesired air penetrations. According to the invention, the area between a plunger (8) and a suction casing (13) is sealed. The plunger has at least two different diameters D1 and D2, whereby the smaller diameter D2 is located at the rear end of the plunger. A sealing element (11) which corresponds to the D2 diameter is provided in the suction casing (13).
