[origin: EP1177861A2] Endless abrasive belt (10) has an abrasive layer (11) and a high tensile support for transmitting drive power to the abrasive layer. The abrasive layer (11), an intermediate layer (16) between the abrasive layer and a support (17), and the support (17) allow particles to flow through. Preferred Features: The support (17) is made from a material which does not allow particles to flow through and has many holes (18) distributed uniformly throughout its surface. The flexible intermediate layer (16) is made from an open-pored foam. The support (17) is made from paper, cloth or film.
