Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1177914A2] The assembly to erase a cleaned printing plate (36), to be used again for printing with a new illustration/text image, applies a cleaning solution (42) as a liquid or gas from a controlled jet unit (44). During the erasure action, the plate is subjected to ultrasonic waves (50) from an ultrasonic transmitter (48). The cleaning solution is water, an acid or a lye. The printing plate processing can be at the printing press, or at a remote station.
