[origin: EP1177979A2] The procedure for sliding tubular film (9) onto longish objects entails transporting the objects on preferably two conveyors (5,6) while the objects are clamped in a holder (7). A pusher guides a sleeve upon which the tubular film is installed over the object so as to be able to withdraw the sleeve at a later point in time. An additional pusher holds the tubular film so that when the sleeve is withdrawn the tubular film is pushed from it in order to stretch around the object. Independent claims are included for a device for the sliding of tubular film onto longish objects with preferably varying cross section, and for a transporting device for the tubular film.
