[origin: EP1178002A1] The lift installation has a support construction (35) supporting guide rails (26,27) in the vertical direction and which defines a housing space (37) between the bottom of the lift shaft and bottom side end of the guide rails to accommodate a part of the drive (39,40). The lift car is positioned at the level of the housing space. The lift car is movably mounted on the guide rails by guide elements, with the lower guide elements allocated to the car floor offset upwards in the vertical direction with regard to the car floor.
