[origin: WO0069760A1] The invention relates to a method and device for handling bottles, especially empty PET plastic bottles (3). The handling device (1) comprises at least one collecting device (4) for receiving bottles (3) fed thereto and for loading the bottles (3) onto a plurality of transportable intermediate supports (6). The collecting device (4) has a tilting device (2) with which the intermediate supports (6) or the support bases (20) thereof and/or the bottles (3) are tilted. The tilting can be effected temporarily and, above all, during a loading and/or unloading process. Stationary tilting elements (21) or a driven tipping device (31) can be used to tilt the support bases (20). Additional or alternative tilting of the bottles (3) can be effected by a swiveling device (16) of a gripping device (14).
