[origin: WO0073608A1] The invention relates to a window or door, consisting of a frame and an operating sash which is pivotably mounted therein and which can be fixed to the frame using a locking device. The invention aims to create a window or a door which allows a ventilation position, even when the window is securely locked. This is achieved by three positions: in a first operational position, the seal (17, 18) is activated, lies adjacent to the frame (1) and the operating sash (2) and the locking device (5) fixes the operating sash (2) to the frame (1). In a second operational position, the seal (17, 18) is deactivated, exposing the gap (10) between the operating sash (2) and the frame (1), whilst the locking device (5) fixes the operating sash (2) to the frame (1). In a third operational position, the seal (17, 18) is deactivated and the locking device (5) releases the operating sash (2).
