[origin: DE19917207A1] The installation includes sensors (2,3,4) which detect a critical situation in the vehicle, enabling transmission of an emergency call containing information for initiating the steps for help. The installation transmits a first call (6) before the actual accident has happened, when one sensor determines a critical travel situation. The first call includes the geographical position of the car. After the first call, a second call (11,12) is transmitted, either canceling the first call, if the sensors do not detect an accident during the time period, or if an actual accident happened, they contain information suitable for initiating helping steps.
