[origin: EP1182052A2] The printed product treatment process is applied to book blocks (14) of printed sheets clamped in positon in a continuous product flow. During one sector of the transportation route, their spines are treated. While each book block is clamped, or while it is being fixed in position during transportation, at least one of its other three sides is cut.
