[origin: WO0075488A1] The invention relates to a stone head to be mounted on the arms of tools, for example excavator arms (1). Said stone head comprises a hydraulic engine (5) and a transmission for driving exchangeable cutting drums or disks or cutting heads (2). The inventive stone head can be optionally provided with cutting heads (2, 2') of different diameters. A lubricant is supplied to the transmission from a lubricant sump in any orientation of the stone cutter heads. The drive of the inventive device comprises a hydraulic engine (5) that is arranged in the arm (1) and a bevel gear drive with a bevel pinion (8) that has a substantially parallel or coaxial axis (18) with respect to the axis of the excavator arm (1) and a bevel gear (14) that is coaxial with respect to the drive axis of the cutter heads (2). A reduction gear is optionally interposed between the drive engine (5) and the bevel pinion (8) or between the bevel gear (14) and the drive shaft (15) for the cutter heads (2).
