Abstract (en)
A convenient stopper for a bottle includes a plug (21) slidably retained in a cylinder (23) by a connecting pin (25). The cylinder (23) is received in an opening (11) of the bottle (10). In a contracted mode of the stopper, the plug (21) is disposed at the top of the connecting pin (25) and away from the cylinder (23), whereby an outer wall of the cylinder (23) contracts from the neck (22) of the bottle (10), to allow easy removal from the bottle (10), without use of a corkscrew. In an expanded mode of the stopper, the plug (21) is urged into the cylinder (23) whereby the outer wall of the cylinder (23) tightly seals the opening (11) of the bottle. The stopper can be re-used to permit storage of remaining contents of the bottle to be consumed later. <IMAGE>
