Abstract (en)
N-alkyl- beta -alanine derivatives and their salts are used in aqueous systems as corrosion inhibitors with a simultaneous cleaning action. The use of compounds of formula (I) and/or (II) with a wt. ratio of (I):(II) = (2:0)-(0:2), preferably (1.5:0.5)-(1:1), in aqueous systems as corrosion inhibitors with a simultaneous cleaning action. In these compounds, R = an optionally branched, optionally multiple bond-containing, optionally substituted 8-18C hydrocarbon group; Ra, Rb, Rc = cations of alkali metals, ammonium salts or protonated amines; Rd = H or optionally branched and/or optionally double bond-containing 1-18C alkyl . An Independent claim is also included for anti-corrosion compositions containing 0.5-5 wt% (I) and/or (II), 0-2.0 wt% emulsifier, 1-0.5 wt% foam suppressant and water (to 100 wt%).
