[origin: EP1184504A2] The method involves passing items through a system with successive chambers (1-16) with various baths. The wash passes through at least one of the following zones; pre-wash (21), cleaning wash (22), rinse (23), and post-treatment (24). Waste water from at least one zone is recovered and at least partly fed back directly without temporary storage to at least one other zone; no waste water is temporarily stored in the water circuit during washing. Independent claims are also included for the following: a washing system for implementing the method.
