Abstract (en)
A transfer system for transferring an image through an ink jet printer to a textile substrate, which includes a carrier substrate and at least one melt transfer/ink absorption layer located on it, with a matrix containing at least one meltable plastics material, embedded in the fine particles of a fuller material, which is ink absorbent. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for preparation of the transfer system involving dissolution and mixing of meltable plastic and filler in a solvent, preferably selected from: water, an alcohol or their mixture, especially a water/ethanol mixture, application of this to the carrier substrate and drying; (2) a process for application of an image from the ink jet printer to the textile substrate involving the steps: mirror controlled printing of an image on the transfer system, heating of the transfer system to a temperature at which the matrix material melts and optional heat withdrawal; (3) a process for application of an image from the ink jet printer to the textile substrate involving the steps: side corrected (sic) printing of the image from the computer onto the transfer system, withdrawal of the carrier, application of the system to the textile substrate with the side of the melt transfer/ink absorption layer on the carrier side, heating of the transfer system to a temperature at which the matrix melts, withdrawal of the carrier after cooling, and optional heat withdrawal; (4) a textile substrate, especially a T-shirt or sweat-shirt obtained by application of an image from an ink jet printer to a textile substrate.

Die vorliegende Erfindung beschreibt ein Übertragungssystem von durch einen Tintenstrahldrucker erzeugten Bildern auf ein Textilsubstrat, umfassend ein Trägersubstrat und mindestens eine darauf angebrachte Schmelztransfer-Tintenabsorption-Schicht mit einer Matrix enthaltend mindestens ein schmelzbares Kunststoffmaterial, in das feine Partikel eines Füllmaterials, das die Fähigkeit zur Tintenaufnahme besitzt, eingebettet sind.
