Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0177478A1] The invention relates to a device for driving a belt for a roller shutter. Said belt is arranged on a rotationally mounted pulley which is sunk in a recess of a wall and which is prestressed in the winding-up direction by spring means. The device comprises a housing in which the belt is partially guided, a housing base plate which can be mounted on the wall and which has a transversal recess through which the belt is guided crosswise to the wall; at least two axially parallel friction rollers on whose peripheral surfaces the belt lies partially, respectively, at least two spur gears which are connected to the corresponding friction rollers in a rotationally fixed manner and are positioned coaxially to the same, respectively; and a drive motor, which is functionally connected to the spur gears. The belt (1) is relayed around at least two friction rollers (2, 3, 26, 27) which rotate in the same direction, at least two friction rollers (2, 3, 26, 27) being coupled by an axially parallel, offset spur gear (6, 28). At least one deflecting roller (10, 11, 29, 30, 31) is associated with the friction rollers (2, 3, 26, 27) on a side of said friction rollers that faces towards the wall (8), in such a way that the belt (1) leaves the friction rollers (2, 3, 26, 27) when extended parallel to the wall (8) and a section of the belt (1) which lies at the front in the winding-up direction is then deflected and guided essentially perpendicularly to the recess (9) of the wall (8).
