Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19927319A1] In a method for determining the distance between two devices in an identification system, a first device sends an electromagnetic signal that is formed by an oscillation stroke with a predetermined amplitude progression and duration, whose amplitude constantly decreases towards the end of the oscillation stroke. The signal is received and the duration of the part of the received signal exceeding a predetermined amplitude threshold value is measured. The distance between the devices is determined on the basis of said measured duration.
