Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0100485A1] The aim of the invention is to provide a propelling and driving system for boats which has an outboard rudder propeller (10) and with which it is possible to achieve comparatively good reliability in terms of the manoeuvrability of the boat. To this end, at least two rudder propellers (10) are provided, each of their driving motors being configured in the form of a permanent magnet-excited synchronous machine, respectively. The stator winding of said synchronous machine has three winding phases, which are connected to a 3-phase alternating current and which are connected to the supply system of the boat. A modular controlling and regulating device consisting of standardised modules is provided for each of the rudder propellers.
