[origin: WO0077906A1] The object of the invention is a ground fault protection system of a winding of an electrical machine, especially a generator stator winding with the neutral point earthed through a first voltage transformer, applicable during the operation of the machine connected in series with a transformer or connected in parallel with a generator, or directly connected to busbars. The system according to the invention is characterised in that in the circuit formed by the primary winding of a second voltage transformer (8), the secondary winding of the first single-phase voltage transformer (5) installed in the neutral point (2) of the winding of the machine (1) and a low-resistance resistor (7) a shunt reactor (6) is connected in parallel to the primary winding of the voltage transformer (8).
